Changing background color in sidebars

I love the color plum - deep plum. So, I want to make the whole site a deep plum. I was able to change the background color in everything but the sidebars. Am I missing something?

Possibly it depends on where you set the colour.

If you can't sort it you can always set the sidebar background to be transparent in Custom CSS

Here's the thing - I am not a techie so I did not understand your instructions. Can you walk me through it? I know I'm being a pain.

Without the url of your site nobody can help you with this kind of things... We need to inspect your site with Firebug for see what elements need to be adjusted and how.

If help, for transparency of widgets can add at Suffusion Options -> Backend -> Custom Includes -> Custom Styles:

Also, I just wondering... why when you don't know something don't ask for help in Support Request section, and post it as a bug of theme?
