Mega menus also broke for me in 4.2.4

I've reverted back to 4.2.3 and everything appears to be working.

The drop downs for child pages in the menus disappeared correctly in 4.2.4 and reverting to 4.2.3 resolved the issue.

Now that my site has launched publicly, I can't leave it broken. But I intend to now also put together a second copy of the site for development/testing, and I'll throw 4.2.4 back on that one, likely tomorrow.

I have the latest Wordpress and just installed the latest Suffusion 4.2.4

My mega menu is fine, seen here under "Quick Jump" from navigation menu bar. Works on latest chrome, ie, firefox. Will check on my ipad's safari, but i think it will be fine.

I created a test site and couldn't replicate the problem.

I upgraded the production site to 4.2.4 and the menus display fine, but I can't save changes to the navmenu without getting an immediate server 500 error.

The only changes I've made recently to the site are upgrading to Wordpress 3.4.1 and Suffusion 4.2.4.

There is nothing in my PHP error logs, nor Apache error logs. The Apache access logs show the 500 error, but no root cause. It doesn't appear PHP is running out of memory, or that there is a timeout. I'm not sure if this is a possible Wordpress or Suffusion issue.

Try also to activate wp_debug. (in wp-config.php change the line: define('WP_DEBUG', false); to true).
Now you will see on the top of pages all problems within your wp installation.

I didn't find anything. And none of the usual troubleshooting steps seem to help.

There isn't a timeout. I get the server 500 error right away. I'm not running out of PHP memory. If I take an empty menu (footer menu) and add a single item and save, I get the error.

I don't know. The 500 errors are generic, something has gone wrong, but the server can't be more specific about the problem. Search on Google for "error 500 wp menus" and you will find a lot of other people who had the same problem, maybe their solutions help you either.
