When I posted a new blog entry yesterday I couldn't get it to show up on the front page, so I started tweaking the settings and nothing worked. When I logged in today the new post is showing up but also the featured post box is showing up which I have turned off but can not get it off my front page nor can I control what is showing up even if I set the control to only show select content. I can only imagine it is a bug. I thank you in advance for your timely assistance. htpp://qdreams.tv
PS. I just updated my theme and now my Excerpts are all messed up also, they used to be small all in a row. I tried tweaking the settings but nothing changes with this also.

I don't believe your update has happened properly - I see instances of 4.0.7 across your site, while it should show the code for 4.2.0. You might want to try reinstalling the theme.

I reinstalled the theme and lost my home page, the settings are still screwy. Idk what to do. The older version was easier to set what page you wanted in the magazine layout and where you wanted them. This just isn't working.

Nothing in the Magazine options has changed in more than 15 months.In any case, your site seems to render fine right now.
