Background Issues

Hi

Before I begin may I say I have read the instructions surrounding the background and WP. But even though I have followed the instructions I find that Suffusion will not override WP settings. I've even added some code to the 'custom includes' to try and override it but this doesn't work neither.

I have Minima Suffusion theme with a fixed centre bottom background that is horizontally repeated. Everything works fine except the bottom centre.

So my image should repeat along the bottom of the screen, but it simply stays at the top.

Any suggestions to fix this please.

Try first to upgrade to 4.2.3. version of Suffusion. You still have 4.2.2. version and the Custom Background issue of WP seems to be addressed in 4.2.3.: http://aquoid.com/news/2012/06/suffusion-version-4-2-3/

Then re-save/restore Appearance -> Background.

Not sure why you think I've got 4.2.2 - I can assure you I have 4.2.3 and it was this upgrade that caused the problem until upgrading it was fine.

I want to revert back but I don't have a copy as I just moved to a new computer

It seems clear to me that the issue is that WP doesn't have enough options when selecting 'background image position' and only allows 'center' positioning and suffusion which allows 'bottom center' isn't overriding WP selection.

Is there a workaround until a new version of suffusion comes out that can combat this please?

Anyone else for any suggestions?

You can always revert to an earlier version of Suffusion. It is downloadable from the Wordpress.org site.

Not sure how to do this as when I go to WP all I see is the latest version of Suffusion (I generally always make a copy before I update but because I'm only just setting up my new computer I just upgraded - silly me - that'll teach me).

Your site still show the 4.2.2 version.

So, probably is a problem with your cache. Try to clean Quickcache files.

sorry but I still can't see what you are showing me. however, i have cleared my cache but everything still looks the same. have another look and let me know if it's showing the updated version to you now please.

Ok, now the version problem is fixed and the site show a white background instead of gray one. Your background image seems to be settled at top-center. If you can't set the image at bottom-center at Suffusion Options -> Skinning, add this at Suffusion Options -> Backend -> Custom Includes -> Custom Styles:

Looking at the stylesheet that shows up when I load a page, Suffusion seems to be ignoring my background-color and background-image-repeat settings. I've selected #FFFFFF and no repeat for my page, but I can't find those options anywhere in the cascade. (http://davidmacdonaldmusic.com)

I know how to fix it with code in the backend, but I'd rather not.
