Navigation Bar - Need further help!

Postby NilsG » 15 May 2012, 10:58

Hi!

I please neeed further help/information to create a navigation bar/menue bar ...

Of course I read the "HOW TO" and was able to create some buttons, but I want more and better ;)

Look at: http://blog.automower-webcam.com/

All the buttons are drop-down-menues! But I don't want drob-down-menues ... May be only one and teh rest should be buttons with "normal" links e.g.

Can anybody please help me?!?

Thanks,

Nils

Explore the options that are available in Suffusion. That is how we have learnt.

As a pointer go to Suffusion Options > Other Graphical Settings > Menu above Header > Then scroll down to "Pages in Navigation Bar".

You can always use the built in Wordpress menus if you don't like the Suffusion ones.

Ok, I did that many time ... But it's not really logically!

Only menues with sub-menues are possible ...
"Order of entities in navigation bar" are not appearing in WordPress" and so on ...

And ... How to use WordPress Menues when using suffusion theme?!?!

If you go to Appearance -> Menus and create a custom WP menu, that menu can be assigned to a navigation bar and it will show up as you have designed.

If you don't want to use native WP menus, go to Other Graphical Elements -> Navigation Bar Above Header -> Pages in Navigation Bar -> Pages in Navigation Bar - All or Selected, pick "Include selections from the next option", and only select what you want to show. If you want each page to show up as a top level tab, for "Page listing style in the Navigation Bar" pick "Show the top level pages in the navigation bar and their sub-pages in drop-downs".

Make similar changes for categories and links.

Hi!

I think I'm too stupid for this ...

I want a simple menue-bar like the menue-bar at "http://www.automower-webcam.com"

HOME : WEBSEITE : IMPRESSUM : DISCLAIMER :

Each "button" in the menue should have a hyperlink to the right website and so on ...

Why is it so complicated in WordPress (and it's themes)?!?

Creating a menu is one of the easiest things in WP. Have you tried Appearance -> Menus like I asked? WP tells you how to define menus: http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_Screen

It isn't that difficult in suffusion, it just takes a little patience when it comes to customizing them. This is a site I am currently building in Suffusion, the menus were created using the suffusion options. http://www.bpdglobal.com

I believe someone else already pointed you in the right direction, but I will offer it again. From the admin control panel, go to "Appearance -> Suffusion Options ->Skinning ->Navigation Bar Above Header" Be sure to select "custom style" and you can modify the appearance all you like.

What you are asking is just as easy in Suffusion. See the last 2 posts here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=748.
