Nav bar below header is above header

Postby Punk Wheat » 12 May 2012, 10:36

I recently made a new header to replace the menu that was set below header. Now I can't get the menu back down below the header. It keeps showing up just above. I've tried several things to kind of reset it, including deactivating plugins. It's a wp menu, but if I would be better off using suffusion menus, thats fine. I'm just confused.

It's simple - and isn't a theme problem... Go to Appearance -> Menus and assign your menu as Navigation Bar Below Header instead of Navigation Bar Above Header on the little panel from left.

I'm sure its simple, but not quite that simple. It's set for below header. I'm going to set one nav bar above header and one below so you can see.

Ok, I see, try to add at Suffusion Options -> Backend -> Custom Includes -> Custom Styles:

Code: Select all
#wrapper {height:300px;}
#nav {float:left;}

That had a very negative result. The 300 was a slight miss, but adjusting that would be obvious even to me. But the background color sort of took over all the sidebar widget areas and other vacant space, with lots of extra vacant space also resulting.

As you can see, I'm nowhere close to a made site, and I intend on squeezing the top of the page a good bit. I'm trying to see how far I can go without looking at anything that resembles code, but if this is where that quest ends and you know of somewhere that I could look to understand how to adjust that area without bothering you, this might be a good chance for me to gain a smidgin of knowledge. But I'll also accept any direct help.

Just the second line of Drake's code should move the navigation bar appropriately.

I am having the same problem.
I tired adding that code to the Custom Styles but, nothing changed.
Any other suggestions?

You don't have the same problem. Your navigation bar is located where is supposed to be.

Anyway, apologize for my code above. I wish to address #header, not #wrapper at the first line.

Thanks, Drake. It must just be my computer. When I look at my site the navagation menu is right smack in the middle of the header. I'm glad it doens't look like that for everyone else.
