Creating a Folder for Rotating Header Background

Postby VertebratePest » 15 May 2012, 16:24

I'm trying to set up a rotating header for my website, www.livelonger.health.gov.au

At the moment, the website has a single image header, which is uploaded under the 'Header Background Image'. But I want to upload a series of images so that a different image will appear with each new page (i.e. the rotating header function).

However, I don't know how to upload a series of images to the website. When trying to set a folder of images for the rotating function, the direction is to "Enter the path to a folder under /data/www/htdocs/wp-content" - but I don't actually know how to do this. Where do I upload the images to?

Is someone able to assist me with easy-to-understand instructions as to how to upload a series of images and then initiate the rotating image function, please?

Many thanks in anticipation of your help,

VertebratePest.

Update.

I have uploaded the banner images into the Media Library, but I don't know if this is the right place to put them?

Using CPanel or an FTP client such as Filezilla, go to the folder where you have installed WP. There you will find a folder called wp-content. Under that folder create a new folder called "header-images". Note that the folder you create should not have any spaces in the name. Then, using CPanel or FTP again, upload all your images to this newly created folder. Now, in the options page for suffusion simply enter "header-images" in this field. That's all.

Sorry to be a n00b, but where do I find the folder where WP is installed? Is it on the computer or on the website?

It is on your website. Typically your hosting provider will be able to help you locate it.
