Custom layout

I've been working on a custom layout for a homepage and there is something that is not quite right as it doesn't always load correctly. I'm stuck and was hoping someone on the forum with more experience than me could look at it quickly and recognize what the problem is. Thanks in advance for any assistance. http://www.menomonielibrary.org

For discarding bullets in right calendar widget add at Suffusion Options -> Backend -> Custom Includes -> Custom Styles:
Code: Select all
li.ai1ec-date {background:none;}

For anything else, I need more explanation on what you wish to achieve or what looks wrong...

I have a two sidebar default layout and on the homepage I was trying to add custom widget areas. When it loads the first time I get something like this.

Once I click on home or travel to another page and comeback it looks like this:

Which is kind of what I was aiming for.

Ok, I don't get the first image, even when I clear all cookies, history and so on in Chrome and reload your site as the first time. But, I can observe that your site is extremely slowly, even if at a first sight don't see elements knowing as high resources eaters. But, If I test your site with Google Page Speed is revealed more problems... Most of them are related to your Gizmo Cube, sharing links (identical content served from different URL's), event calendar or Google Maps.

Probably for you, a script stop to respond at first loading, then all the remaining scripts can't finish their jobs, so the site is messed up. After that, because some resources are already in cache, all things can be finished.

Try to use a caching plugin (the best is W3Total Cache, the easiest to setup is QuickCache) to see if help.
