Performance Issues possibly Suffusion?

Postby pilot911 » 17 May 2012, 06:18

Hi,

I am experiencing performance issues on the backend of a site where selecting another menu option hangs. The only errors in the error log are:

[17-May-2012 12:31:40] WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query SELECT option_value FROM wp_options WHERE option_name =
'suffusion_post_types' LIMIT 1 made by require_once, require_once, require_once, do_action, call_user_func_array, suffusion_register_custom_types, get_option
[17-May-2012 12:31:40] WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query SELECT option_value FROM wp_options WHERE option_name = 'suffusion_taxonomies' LIMIT 1 made by require_once, require_once, require_once, do_action, call_user_func_array, suffusion_register_custom_types, get_option
[17-May-2012 12:31:41] WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query SELECT * FROM wp_posts WHERE ID = 15566 LIMIT 1 made by get_post
[17-May-2012 12:53:38] WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query SELECT option_value FROM wp_options WHERE option_name = 'suffusion_post_types' LIMIT 1 made by require_once, require_once, require_once, do_action, call_user_func_array, suffusion_register_custom_types, get_option
[17-May-2012 12:53:38] WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query SELECT option_value FROM wp_options WHERE option_name = 'suffusion_taxonomies' LIMIT 1 made by require_once, require_once, require_once, do_action, call_user_func_array, suffusion_register_custom_types, get_option
[17-May-2012 12:53:38] WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query SELECT * FROM wp_posts WHERE ID = 15594 LIMIT 1 made by get_post

Is this actually a problem with Suffusion in your opinion or something else?

Any help is appreciated.

Regards

Chris

I would not know but had to Google and of course tons of hits - so at least not directly tied to Suffusion.

Reason I post is this clown http://robsnotebook.com/wordpress-mysql-gone-away - linked to from here http://wordpress.org/support/topic/erro ... ?replies=6 He charge for newer fixes of WP core file. Dont get that desperate. Chances of build in error since 2.1.1 that REALLY should get fixed are slim to none. MySql page linked to in that old thread shows it can be what ever and you should probably contact host for a real permanent fix.

Some themes with many options can actually push certain server values over the edge but I dont think this applies - also you will see a blank white screen when saving or something. One of the common issues also give hits here, "suhosin" search search.php?keywords=suhosin

If you were not in potential target base of a dude offering core fixes you would list server and Suffusion info and have done some exclusion work to back up idea theme IS problem, or perhaps more correctly trigger an error pointing to server problems.
