Odd post page padding/margin

Postby slips111 » 23 May 2012, 02:46

From my homepage of posts, if I click on "Continue Reading" where I've inserted a More tag, I'm taken to 'post-page/#more-"4-digit number"/' (don't know why I'm not just taken to 'post-page/'). The problem is that on this page the first line of the post disappears up under the post header information (Author, Categories, Tags, Add Comments) (strangely, if I click on the title of the post and go to 'post-page/', I don't have this problem). I assume that this is a margin or padding problem. Could somebody tell me how to fix it?

(And bonus points if someone can tell me how to get "Continue Reading" to take me to 'post-page/' rather than 'post-page/#more-"4-digit number"/'.

Thanks.

Nothing odd here. When you deliberately insert a more tag, you presume that the user read the first part of post on the front-page and then continue to read your article from this particular point. So, the single post page will be scrolled to the "#more-4-digit number" anchor.

If you don't wish that, use excerpts instead of more tag. Go to Suffusion Options -> Layouts -> Front / Blog Page Views and set it to "Display excerpt". Further, at Suffusion Options -> Layouts -> Layout Excerpt/List/Tile/Mosaic/Full you can set how to be showed those excerpts.

If you aren't satisfied by the automatic excerpts created by WordPress, you can make your own manual excerpts when you edit the post. If you don't see the field for excerpt below the edit screen, push the "Screen Options" button on the top-right corner (below "Howdy, Admin") and check Excerpts in the opened list.

Fantastic! Thank you very much. And I realize that this isn't a Suffusion question at all, but any way to take out my More tags from hundreds of posts other than manually? Thanks again.

What is made by the man hand.....

I'm affraid that you have nothing to do than to take out manually your own inserted tags...
