Images do not rotate

Postby pietopper » 23 May 2012, 11:48

I have specified "rotating images" and uploaded about 30 images, all the same size. However, the do not rotate: only one image shows, even if using a different browser or even different computer. For the sake of interest, it is the tenth image in the folder.

I am puzzled because I had it working perfectly previously, on a different host.

You can view it here: http://musings.dinkincc.com

Thanks for your help, and for a great theme. I previously crossed your palm with silver.

You have specified and incorrect path for your images

Code: Select all
http://musings.dinkincc.com/wp-content//headers/bridge.jpg

see the 2 //'s after wp-content it should only be 1.

You have probably done this for all the images.

BTW your page took an absolute age to load for me.

Thanks! careless of me, and I didn't spot it.

Thanks also for the feedback about the page load time. It is hosted on GoDaddy, and I did complain to them, but the told me that it was "just me." Now I have some ammunition.

I am not quite there... I was happy to see a different image -- but when I hit refresh it did not change. Another computer shows the same image. If I now put "/" after the folder name, I also get a different image....but it also does not change. Mysterious.

However, the site seems to load faster? Could that be an issue?

Sorry no other bright ideas as to what is going on here sorry. Hopefully Sayontan will pop in and give you a clue.

Your page load time is ~30seconds according to pingdom.

One of my sites that is far more complex than yours with more plugins and images running Suffusion is taking less than 5 seconds and another with loads of photos is only taking 6 seconds so there is definitely something wrong on your server.

Do a test yourself at pingdom.com

Something is seriously out of whack on your server - the time to first byte is a humongous 50+ seconds (http://www.webpagetest.org/result/12052 ... _byte_time). You might want to consider a caching plugin such as W3 Total Cache to bring things down a notch.

Regarding the rotating header you seem to be facing an old problem that I had fixed a while back. I will have to investigate further.

Your images rotate without any problem after upgrades, at every F5 I see another image.
