Hi,
I always known that this theme is the "State of the Art". The first and second time I loaded it(years ago?) I found it to time consuming to learn.
This time I'm serious about it and learning more daily. I use different themes on several niches but getting used to Suffusion I can make any template/design I want.
I am trying it on http://relaxchairs.net (not ready) and have some Q:
1. I Want a header bar above the excerpts like in demo http://documentary.net. Does landing-page have to be a page to do that, I think I'm set for blog.
2. I have a problem with the size of the excerpts boxes I would like a fixed height, regardless of excerpt length.
3. When assigning a featured img. for the "featured" it appears in the post.
4. I use WPZone to link my posts to Amazon. How do I make some of the details of those posts like maybe rating or price display in the excerpts or tiles, can I ad information in custom fields or change the way the theme fetch the information for excerpts?
Probably all this can be made in the admin area but I can change some code if necessary

1, 2 - You need to use Magazine template, rather than tiles from landing page. Go and make a static page, assign for it Magazine template from Templates dropdown from Page Attributes panel on the right. Go to Settings -> Reading and assign this page as static page for landing.
At Suffusion Options -> Templates -> Magazine you have all tools to format the magazine page as you wish, with titles, equal heights, order for picking up the image and so on...
3. I am not sure if I understand correctlly what you wish, but you can choose to show or not the featured image for the full articles at Suffusion Options -> Layouts -> Layout Excerpt / List....... -> Thumbnail Settings -> Show featured images for full content.
4. WordPress strip out all html tags in automatic excerpts. If you wish, you can make your own manual excerpts, in the Excerpts field below Edit Post textarea. If you don't see the field, click on "Screen Options" button on the top right of screen (below Howdy, Admin!) and tick the checkbox for Excerpts.

That was fast and as I suspected it has to be a static page.
Will my posts show on that page or do I have to make child-pages instead of posts?
I am planing to use a img for header, what is the ideal width for the img if I want it outside main wrapper as wide as the window. Can I make it clickable?

The page which use Magazine template isn't a real static page, is more like a formatted page of posts. If you go at Suffusion Options -> Templates -> Magazine you will see a lot of options for presenting categories/posts. Even for showing the static page content, if you write some, is needed to activate an option at Templates -> Magazine...

About images... really... depend only by your imagination... An image of 1366px will look fine on my laptop... but on my 21" monitor from my office probably will look poorly... Instead you can use a repeating background image or a color to fill the browser window and another image (a logo or something) as foreground image - this one used as foreground will be also clickabile.
Also, in header are more widget areas where can be added images, linked or not, using just html tags in common text widgets.
