I thought the widgets were a part of the suffusion theme. After I installed the suffusion theme, I started tinkering
with the layout and when I was done with that I started adding things to the sidebar, like the RSS widgets that the
menu has in admin. I really don't know if they are from WordPress or Suffusion, but all I do know for sure is that
they were there from the beginning of my set up.

Some widgets come with the core theme, a few come with Suffusion and the rest come with plug-in's that you have added.

I only have 2 plugins installed on my site, Jetpack by WordPress.com, and WordPress SEO, so
unless the widgets came with one of those plugins, the widgets came with WordPress or
Suffusion. That leaves me still trying to figure out what to do.

Edit the widget code rather than edit the theme code.

The next question is where is the code for the widgets? Is it something I can find
in the editor of the admin dashboard or in my hosted cpanel files?

You will have to find it in the Wordpress directory on your server using File Manager in cPanel. Sorry I don't know the file name but it will probably have RSS in the file name. You may be better off asking about this on the Wordpress support forum.

You will need to go through ftp (CPanel) and edit default-widgets.php located in wp-includes subfolder of your wordpress install. But, I suggest to not put yourself in troubles and let the core files of wordpress intact.
