adding background to header

Postby terricomp » 02 Aug 2012, 06:39

I am new to Wordpress and trying to get my header to look right in Suffusion. I have uploaded my logo in the GIF format, 500 pixels so it shows as white on a green background and half the banner is blank green. I created a plain white box in Publisher and saved in GIF, and uploaded it as a background, but it does not show. I have also tried to create a banner in Publisher by inserting my logo into a blank rectangle and adding my email and phone to the right side of the box and uploading as foreground, but it comes out blurry. Any suggestions for creating a header that spans the entire width of the website and could include my contact info without blurring? I have the logos from the graphic designer in GIF, BMP and JPG formats.

I am seeing the background - it is an image that seems transparent, but has a faint border.

Thank you so much! Duh, I had created the box with no fill instead of a white fill. How embarrassing. I'm beginning to get this a little better, thanks to this great forum.
