Nav tabs not displayed correctly in IE

Post by zharc » 11 Aug 2010, 14:26

Site http://gregorypossman.dk
WP = 3.0.1, Suffusion = 3.6.3

FF, Chrome, Opera, Safari are all displaying my site as expected:

but IE randomly changes some or all of the tabs to horizontal bars, and left-align the whole page:

I have made "Custom Includes" modifications to some of the "#nav ul.sf-menu ....", but even if I remove those, the problem remains.
BTW, I can't find the CSS class sf-menu anywhere in the .css files, wonder why?

Any help will be most appreciated, I'm a bit desparate - the majority of the users are using (buggy) IE...!

How did you add your Analytics code to your blog?

The site is hosted by Netfirms. In the site control panel, there is a place to paste the GA code in. And I noticed, that it goes in at the very top of the HTML code - not very neat, but I guess that they know what they are doing?

That is causing invalid HTML, which I suspect is causing layout issues

Thanks a lot! Removing the GA code seems to have cured the problem.
Any suggestions where to put the code , if at all possible with WP/Suffusion?

And, I need to get an explanation from Netfirms why they screw up things when GA is enabled for a site. Can't be the only one on the planet with that problem.

Suffusion has virtually everything, including a place to add your Google Analytics code.

1. From the left menu in your Dashboard, click Suffusion.
2. Now under that, click "Blog Features"
3. In the window that appears to the right, click "Analytics"
4. Click the option to Enable Analytics.
5. In the next section, enter your code.
6. Click Save Changes.

While that is true, I personally prefer using the Analyticator plugin. The advantage is that it creates a dashboard for you on your admin panel.

Thanks for your effort and suggestions.

I have now installed Google Analyticator, and it inserts the GA code where it should be.
The HTML code validates ok, and the rendering of the pages is as expected, in all tested browsers.
