Tim,
The basics of WP are covered at the WP site itself. You might want to see this article: http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Hierarchy, which is somewhat techie in nature, but very informative about what each file does. I am sure the WP site is littered with other such documents.

Regarding Suffusion the closest that something comes to being illustrative of different screen components is the graphic at the top of the "Sidebars and Widget Areas" tab in "Suffusion Theme Options". As Mark suggested, you can take a look at things under "Suffusion Theme Options" in general. Though there are many options (around 250, I guess), the tabs on the left side can give you an idea of what can be customized.

OK, that was of little to no help. We obviously live on two different worlds.

If it is somewhat technical in nature, it is not what I need to see. Think simply. Think people who don't talk in HTML or even know what those letters in caps mean.

Where is something for the website that is similar to what I have below??

Best,

PS,

Mark,

Your site looks and functions great.

If I could figure out what you did to get an image up top (is that a header???) (in Journalism talk a header is the uppermost headline) and a number of other changes, I'd be right there.

A little direction please.

Looks like you have not seen the graphic I am pointing you to in Appearance -> Suffusion Theme Options -> Sidebars and Widget Areas, so let me upload it for you:

The diagram is slightly old, but for a beginner it has the precise level of accuracy. The boxes shaded blue indicate the Sidebars / Widget Areas. It should at least make as much sense to a WP beginner as your guitar picture would to a person with no clue about guitars.

To customize your header (a.k.a. blog title) appearance see the posts here: viewforum.php?f=8.

I have tried to shield users from having to understand the nuances of code to the extent I humanly can - it is up to you to take a little initiative and follow directions as specified. As I have been saying, take a look at the "Suffusion Theme Options" - if nothing else you will at least come to know what the different terms are.

Thanks TR? For the comments on my site, feed back is always good to hear especially when I am making it up as a go alog. I have had hardly any sleep that last 3 weeks learning how to do all this. All I need now is traffic.

Re the Header:
You will no doubt have found the option where you can upload a header file. But I will mention something that I dont yet quite have the hang of and it's been more of a trial and error, and this is creating the header in terms of its image size, image resolutions, pixels and all that other technical stuff. I was a good 1/2 day redesign the size of the header numerous times to make it fit properly to suit the page size and margins etc.

There is probably an easier way than the hard way to create headers. I just though I'd mention this, because it will probably frustrate you as much as it did me and you probably be best doing some research on google.

Cheers

Thank you. I did not see that diagram. It is a big help.

Mark, you need to work with 72 dpi images. You can resize in Photoshop easily or iPhoto, Expression Media. etc. Just about any image manipulator will work. But start by reducing your file dpi to 72.
