1. No offensive language and no mocking
2. Please do a thorough search before you post something. Trust us, there is a high probability that the question you are asking has been asked previously.
3. No soliciting. You cannot post here soliciting bids for people offer you quotes, or even offer money to people for some work. You will be moderated if you do so. If you are looking for help, please post your request on http://jobs.wordpress.net or http://codepoet.com
4. Please be reasonable. You are getting software and support. For free. Complicated requests from a general purpose theme are not welcome and some volunteers might lose patience with you.
5. Please do your due diligence. If you posted a query and we answered with a link, take the trouble to go through the link contents.

Multi lingual support

Post by ChangeAgent » 17 May 2014, 08:34

Hi folks,

I want to create (using Suffusion of course) a site in more than one language, to start with English as the main language and German as the second, maybe ad more at a later point. We are not looking for translating the content automatically, we will write each page in both languages. I was looking at plugins to do this and read in one that one needs to check with the developer of the theme if is localized (meaning translated). Is Suffusion for these languages?

Secondly any experience with doing this?
Any hot or cool tips or experience?
Any plugins to recommend?
Anything else that might benefit me in this adventure?

Thanks!

I can recommend WPML - it worth every money - to make a multilingual site with WPML is not much different than an usual site in one language... Headers, menus... all can be translated without any problem. (See http://complexvrajamarii.ro by eg.)

Otherwise, qtranslate is a free alternative which works also with Suffusion.
