Centering Featured Content

Since switching to a fluid width i find a small problem, setting featured content images, they will work well at one resolution but obviously leave a blank space on other resolutions, easily cured by having a fixed resolution but i think a nice fix for fluid width resolutions, well not a fix but certainly something which would make things stand out better would be an option in the widget featured content and suffusion options featured content panel to center featured content on the page, that way it'll look nicer on the eye when using a fluid width layout.

Can i ask if this can be implemented in a future upgrade, in the meantime is there a way of centering featured content on the page by using some code. ?

I don't plan on providing this as an inbuilt feature. However I did provide a fix to someone on this forum recently for how to dynamically resize the featured image using padding, margins etc - that would fill out the white space. Unfortunately I am having a tough time tracking down that post - phpBB doesn't search through code segments if you search. I will look around for this.

If you manage to find this i'd try and implement it.

Incidentally further to my post regarding the Playstation 3 browser, i note the images are squished within this browser and the content has a huge black area which you have to scroll down before you see the text part of the post and it looks to be similiar to an old issue from a few months back or at least as far as the squished images go but obviously this was fixed for those browsers, i know you don't have access to a Playstation 3 browser so cannot fix this issue but whatever the cause is i do know it used to work fine early last year.

I am currently using the widget area below header so will probably not be showing up too well for Internet Explorer 7 browsers ( as read on another post ) i wonder if that issue could also affect the Playstation and be causing these errors, anyways regardless i do hope that fix for Internet Explorer 7 comes soon.

The Top Navigation bar contents are also messed up when using I.E. 7 so i hope the fix solves that issue too and not just the widget area below header.

The only incompatibility with IE7 is when you are using the no-sidebars template and that widget area. Otherwise there are no issues

The fix is provided on a few posts here:
Code: Select all
#container { float: left; }
