Built-in Page Navigation prob with (untitled) text widget

Postby migf1 » 21 Jan 2010, 04:54

Hi again!

I'm using a "Below Header" text widget, WITHOUT giving it a title (that's on purpose). I've filled it up with some html code which just shows 3 banners below the header. The problem is that when I use the page navigation-bar on the bottom of the posts to view the next/previous bunch, the 1st and the 3rd banners are not shown up, only the second one shows up.

I've tried to understand how is that possible, since all 3 banners reside to the same directory, no luck. This happens regardless the use of the widget-logic widget: the banners break only when using the navigation bar below the posts, in no other page.

Here's the site. I would really appreciate any help on this one (Wordpress 2.8.6, Suffusion 3.0.9, Firefox 3.0.16... note that the site is not working well on IE, I'm aware of that, it has nothing to do with Suffusion).

PS1. On a side note, due to the heavy customization I've made through lots of plugins and since I don't really know how deep some of them might have digged in (my CSS customizations are all kept in separate files, so no problem there) is it safe to just upload the folder of the latest Suffusion and just let it ovewrite the files? I know the recommended method is to delete the old folder, but I would like to avoid it, just to be on the safe side.

PS2. Sayontan, I owe you the Greek translation for strings introduced after 3.0.9. Haven't forgotten about it, I'm just looking for some free time (and man, you're a producing machine  ... cannot keep up with your rate of upgrades  )

Hi Harry,
I see all your banners. Very often it has more to do with a time lag for ads. You might want to retry seeing your page now and / or close and reopen your browser.

Thanks for the Greek translation. You are right - most translators have a tough time keeping up with me :-)

Sayontan.

Thanks for the reply! Actually it was not working (you had to select a page number from the page nav bar in the bottom of the news in order to see the problem) but it was not Suffusion after all.

I was using relative addresses in the 1st and 3rd banner inside src="" and due to permalinks they were not showing up when the user was selecting a different page of posts. I used absolute addresses now and everything is ok.

Thanks!

PS. How about my question in PS1 in my previous post above? Is it ok if I just replace the old folder with the new one?

Sorry, I missed that question. As long as you have not touched CSS and PHP within Suffusion, you will be safe with completely deleting the folder and replacing it with the new one. But it is your call.
