Every browser with own standards... Sometimes help to add a explicite position declaration to element definition. Try to replace .gallery-item {margin-top:0;} with:
Code: Select all
.gallery-item {position:relative;margin-top:0;}

Is there also a way of making the navigation bar not pop up over the header image, but below it?
My header image is actually taller, I had to make it taller so that the nav bar wouldn't obscure it but it would be cool to make it show below the header.

Suffusion Options -> Skinning -> Header, scroll down to the last option and increase "Height of header image" to suit with your desired image. The navigation bar will be moved accordingly...

Supposedly yes.. But it doesn't, the nav bar actually covers the image I have currently (I know because when I make it transparent I can see it).

Ok, where is positioned the background image for header now? For me it looks like is somewhere in the bottom of the header container and need to be at Top-center (setting at Suffusion Option -> Skinning -> Header -> Header Background Image Position). With this change it needs to works the adjustement of Height of Header Image.

When I use:
Code: Select all
#header-container {height:166px;}
#header {height:200px;}

I can separate the navigation bar from header image. So, if don't work to change things from Suffusion's menu, add those 2 lines at Custom Styles and play with dimensions until the navigation bar came aligned with your header image.

Do you have any other ideas for removing the distance between the rows in firefox?
Thanks,

Try this - add to Custom Styles:
Code: Select all
.entry img.attachment-thumbnail {position:relative;margin-top:-3px;margin-bottom:-4px;}

In Firebug seems to have effect...
