Meteor Slides

Postby DeenAdz » 04 Apr 2012, 11:21

Hi,

I've recently installed the Meteor Slides plugin and am very pleased with it.

However, when I use the widget in my header, it naturally consumes a very small portion of the header. Would anyone know how to expand the widget area to cover the entire header?

My site is: http://boots3pots.com/

I am a noobie, thanks for any help.

Add a custom style under Back-end -> Custom Includes -> Custom Styles:
Code: Select all
#header-widgets { width: 600px; }

Cool.

However, the widget refuses to overlap the foreground image. I've removed the foreground logo for now as it isn't too important to me, but would there be a way to have the slideshow underneath the logo?

With some custom CSS adressing the z-index of elements, Meteor Slides can be over the logo or below... But I can't say more because I can't see any slideshow or logo on your site. If you simply wish the logo below, you can use it as header background at Suffusion Option -> Skinning -> Header and then the slideshow will be over it.

Hi Drake,

I have installed the Meteor slider which works very well but when placed as a header widget it appears below the header foreground image, as in vertically on the page. What I would like is to have the slider as a header background so that the foreground image floats in front of it.

Thanks,
Sheryl

Hi Sheryl,

Without the url of your site I can't see and test what settings you need. As I said, by defining a z-index for slideshow lower than z-index for logo you can have the logo over the slider.

Hi there!

My site is; http://credence.org/new1/

Right now the Meteor slider always places itself vertically below the header foreground image. (the 'Credence' logo on the purple strip at the top left is the foreground image, in skinning the background image is currently set to 'none' )

I know what you mean about the z index but I don't know where to set this.

Try to add at Suffusion Options -> Backend -> Custom Includes -> Custom Styles:
Code: Select all
#header {height:55px;}
.blogtitle {position:relative;z-index:1}
#header-widgets {margin-top:-70px;position:relative;z-index:0;}

Thanks very much Drake! That works -)

But now my broadband keeps tanking and it's time for dinner.

Cheers,
