Magazine Settings

Postby HoddzDJ » 11 Apr 2012, 06:13

Hi all, I'm new here and I have been using the Suffusion theme for a while now and it is by far the best theme I have come across. I have 25 posts on my blog that I need to go through and change the Suffusion settings for each post, but I'm trying to get the Magazine page setup and I can't get any joy at all.

I have gone through all of the settings for the Magazine layout and nothing seems to happen after I check them all and save the page settings. I have had it working once but then changed it back because I didn't like it too much but now I think I'd like it back, but I can't figure out what I have changed and what needs changing.

I'm willing to go through each setting and telling you what is set to what if I have to, it would take time but I'll do it if it means I can get it working! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to create a static page and assign to that page the "Magazine Template" in the Page Attributes panel on the right side of Edit Page screen. Assign that page as static page frontpage at Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading.
Then go to Suffusion Options -> Templates -> Magazine and style your page like you wish... Enjoy :)

I guess there is no way to have that as the homepage of the blog, as the magazine layout?

I don't understand what you wish. I said "Assign that page as static page frontpage at Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading." That's mean that your new Magazine Page will be your new home page... To assign your posts to the magazine page make the changes at Templates section for asigning categories to sections of magazine. Principal meaning of magazine template is to be homepage/frontpage of a site.
