Line on navigation bar

Sorry in advance for the Noob question but I've been trying to figure this out all day and I just can't make it work

The navigation bar that is going across the top is a straight line. On the bottom it gets broken up. No matter what options I try, the line never is the same size and smooth like the top 1. Can someone give me a little guidance on what to do?
