Front page won't show sidebar

Hi,
I've searched around the net to find some answers to this....found a few solutions, but none seem to be working.
I've got my sidebar settings to one right sidebar on every page, no matter the type.
My front page and my events (in the navigation) which is a category, won't show my right sidebar.

I've gone back and forth with the sidebar and layout settings, defaulting to 0 and changing individually, as well as making it 1 sidebar for every page.
nothing is working.

the about page shows it no problem

You have markup issues in this post: http://benjaminrushsociety.org/newwordpress/?p=343. You have probably forgotten to close a tag there, causing your sidebar to go to the bottom of the page.

ah!
i didn't even see it at the bottom there....duh.
I imported all of this from Joomla and the user was certainly doing his best to give some style to headers and stuff without really realizing what he was doing.
I only looked at a few posts but all need work, obviously. And I'm fairly green as well.

BTW, your quick response was awesome.
I use sufffusion for a personal site and now I think will be using for two other work sites.
it's a good template to start with.
