Todays Posts Only

Okay so I'm back again with a whack idea! On my blog I use the one full blog post and then snippets. But I'm starting to write more and more blog entries and I'd like to have todays posts in full and the rest in snippets OR if there are no posts from today, just the posts from the last post date in full.

For example.. if there are two posts from today, both are shown in full and then the rest are snippets.
-- BUT --
If there are no posts from today, none from yesterday, and three from the day before, all three will be shown in full and then the rest in snippets.

Now, I understand this will probably need to be coded and I'm more than happy to do a bit of work but I have no idea on where I would even start with this! Any help would be greatly appreciated, and maybe even get it added as an option!

Whack ideea? Hmmm...

You can't... or if isn't impossible, I can't see any easy solution for this... Much, much more easier is to visit every day, after you write your posts, Suffusion Options -> Layouts -> Front Blog/page Views and set the number of Full posts accordingly with your inspiration from the respective day..... After all is your blog, you have all settings under control :)

You can use the Custom Layout Template + a widget like Suffusion's Query Posts, but one that lets you pick dates (I know that the Query Posts widget by Justin Tadlock offers a bunch of extra parameters, but I don't know if it lets you split the results into individual boxes the way Suffusion does). In the first widget area in the Custom Layout use the query to select posts from today, in the second use widgets from yesterday and in the third use widgets from the day before yesterday. If you want to split out full posts vs. excerpts, you will have to probably use all 5 widget areas and combine this with Widget Logic and probably Exec PHP (and it still may not work because your conditions may be too convoluted - you will have to store a bunch of global variables to track full posts etc., for which you need Exec PHP)

I don't do freelance work (for Suffusion or otherwise), so please don't contact me for quotes or offers.
