Impotent Search Box

Postby Kelly » 03 May 2012, 11:57

Hi Sayontan,

I'm unsure what has caused this, but the once working (at least as I recall when I built and tested the site last year) Search box - located at the very top of the page - and configured with "Show search with navigation" setting under: Suffusion Options → Sidebar Configuration → Right Header Widgets seems to be crippled; however, it's visually okay - you just simply can't enter anything in the box...

If you're wanting to see what I'm referring to, please do so at: http://panocea.us/

Thank you very much for your kind help.

Try disabling your plug-ins, it could well be one of them that is screwing things up. Once all disabled see if it works, if it does then add them back one by one checking as you go to see which one is causing the problems. If this isn't the cause then come back.

Hi Colin,

Thank you for the reply. I will try out your suggestions and report back.

For reasons unknown, notice of this reply, while dated 5.3.2012, only now presented itself in my inbox :?

Kind regards,

Kelly

Okay... I tried what you had suggested Colin, but with no luck.

Then I noticed that GTranslate wasn't working either and after some reading on Edvard's forum, found the suggestion to unload the jQuery library but failed to explain how that might be done.

Could to two issues be related?

No mystery, actually. Put this in your Custom Styles:
Code: Select all
#header { float: left; }

To bifurcate (this thread) or not to bifurcate...

... still curious as to how jQuery libraries are unloaded and the impact in doing on Suffusion - if any.

JQuery is needed for running Suffusion, so Suffusion loads the JQuery library that WP provides. The recommended ways to not load libraries is to "dequeue" them, which can only be done in code. If you dqueue JQuery, Suffusion will break.
