Tabbed Widgets not working correct

Postby miguael » 11 Dec 2009, 08:18

Hi
I am impressed more and more by your theme and I really want to use it! All those features and possibilities are just great!

Im am Using WPMU 2.8.4
And the latest theme 3.0.6

In my case the tabbed widgets do not work correctly. The tabs show up and the content, but ALL of the content is open and the tabs don't do anything. I guess that's not the way it should be?

Further: When I add more Widgets (not tabbed) with tabs activated they don't show correctly. When I close a widget (by the way cool feature), I can't open it anymore.

Is there any conflict you could think of? Maybe it is realted to the non working of the featured articles (posted in a differnet place in the forums)? Or do you think it has something to do with WPMU?

Thanks already!

Miguael,
The more I think about it, I believe your site is not able to pull JQuery. The components you have mentioned (featured posts, tabbed widgets) require JQuery to function. Can you provide your URL? That would really help.

Thanks,
Sayontan.

Sure :-)

This is a test-install...

I thought of that too, or maybe a jquery conflict? I am also using Buddypress and maybe the BP-Nav-Bar uses jQuery (I am not sure).

There seems to be a problem with one of your BuddyPress components (activity comments). I see an error that says "jQuery("a.form-control").livequery is not a function" for this component.

Just have another question: Everything (Featured Area, Tabbed Widgets) work fine. But the drag and drop stuff doesn't work anymore and the title of the first widget after the tabbed sections lookes a little funny...
Is that on purpose? (you can see it on my test-page...

Thanks again...!

There are two reasons for that:
1. The tabbed widget is not a part of the drag-and-drop group, so you wouldn't be able to drag and drop it.
2. There is a bug in the Twitter plugin, caused from a change I did somewhere else in 3.0.2 / 3.0.5. Try this: for your Twitter widget don't show the title. You might also want to disable drag and drop - the more I think about it, including this functionality in the first place was a mistake.

yep - the twitter widget caused all the troubles. Disabling it, did the trick. thanks. drag and drop works now and I think it's a nice idea... just for those who want to use it. :-)

I beg to diasgree. It's a FANTASTIC feature, along with the possibility to open/close widgets.

I'm creating a site using that feature. I'll let you know when it's done.
