help. i want to reset footer options

Postby traio » 01 Jan 2010, 05:48

hi
i'm not much a site builder, but using you'r theme is very easy and it's great! thenks

about the problem
i enterd into the centeral footer zone a long html code (with a div and inside it a from... i'm using lightview plus and wanted to do some cool stuff with it.)
after that the whole options page (of the theme) went crazy, i see all the options-page pages that are below the "Footer Customziation" and even the "submit" button from the FORM..
ughh and i can't delete it and save or do reset the page definitions..
:|

i tryed even reupping the theme to the server over the old theme files.. but it didn't do nothing, cause i guess the defintions are stored somewhere else.

so i really need help fixing it
is the a way to reset that specific footer page? if i do a full reset of options will it do the trick?

Thenks for the great theme, and sorry about my bad english

If I am not wrong, the stuff you entered will be stored in the wordpress-options-table, there are some options, named " suf_footer_left" etc.

you could do the following:

1. IMPORTANT: Do a backup of WordPress either with PHPMyAdmin if you have access or using a Wordpress-Backup-Plugin which backups your wordpress-tables
2. open the table wp_options or whatever it is called, eventually with a prefix in PHPMyAdmin
3. clear the entries in the option " suf_footer_left" and "suf_footer_center" and if there as well, "suf_footer_right" (I am not quite sure in the moment)

check if everything is ok, if so ignore the following radical suggestion (and please don't take me responsible)

========================================================================================================
I suggest the following which is a radical cure and you should be very careful with that because you will loose ALL suffusion-options:

- activate the default template
- uninstall the suffusion template, by uninstalling all stored options should be deleted from the database
- clear the cache
- delete all suffusion files in the folder wp-content/themes/suffusion if there are some left
- re-install suffusion

yes, "reset settings" would have done also, but my first suggestion was to clear the footer only..

but one consolidation: you will be more secure and savy when you re-work your settings-.. that is not irony, that is my experience!
