Blog not displaying comments

I chose to have a static 'home' page and then created a page for my blogs. When clicking on the 'blog' menu, there is now no option to leave a comment. The discussion tag in 'pages' is ticked for comments.
I have tried everything I know for a number of hours, including trying another wordpress theme (twenty-ten), which allowed me to leave a comment. I then re-activated Suffusion and it didn't allow me to leave a comment.
I have tried going to suffusion option>back-end>comments section and trying every conceivable combination, all to no avail.

I really love your suffusion theme and would love to keep using it but I do want people to leave comments and have a static home page and suffusion just doesnt seem to allow this combination.

This isn't a bug. You have a problem with your permalink settings (Settings -> Permalinks). Reset them to the defaults and then try again.

Permalink settings reset to default settings, saved changes, refreshed page, logged out, back in again. Still no comments. Really appreciate any other thoughts. Thank you for your time.

Ar you checked at Suffusion Options -> Other Graphical Elements -> Post and Page Bylines to not have settled Hide Comments Link for pages?

At this point I am not seeing any posts on your blog page.

Sorry, I had taken the test blog posts off while I was trying to find a resolution. I have put another test post on. Still no comments box, but a slight improvement because if I click on the post title it produces a comments box underneath

Is a "blog" page - a page of posts, a page that combine multiple posts. Those pages can't have comments boxes - only single posts/pages can be commented. Instead, on aggregate pages, under each post you have a link for comments (now is "No responses", after comments are made will be 1 Response.. n Responses)

... And that is standard behaviour. The blog page will not have comments boxes for any standard theme - only individual posts have comments shown.

If that is the case then I am happy with that. I guess I was quite keen for people to comment and so wanted to make it easy for them to do so. I am really new to blogging so I have a lot to learn. thank you for taking your time to help me. I just want to add that I took a long time considering various themes to use for my blog and I find this theme Suffusion really really excellent. It is so involved and complete, I will be recommending it to everyone I know.
