Slider Size

Postby zionroaster » 12 Apr 2012, 16:19

Greetings;
I want to be able to use widgets on both sides of our site. In order to allow these to be enabled, is there a standard or suggested
size for the main slider on the home page? Also, are there instructions to advise what to enable/disable in Suffusion to allow a slider?
Thanks,
Kevin

Your best bet is to just start with the default widths for your content and widget areas. Then fine tune them to suit once you have your widgets and content in place to get the widths appropriate to the items on the page, for instance you may be able to narrow one sidebar and need to widen the other.

As to the slider just experiment with the settings, remember there are 2 inbuilt sliders one a widget one and the other that sits above your content but between the sidebars.

Hey Colin---Thanks for the response. I am not sure what my designer used. I don't think it was the widget slider.
Is there a specific area in the admin section that will tell me which one is active?
Thx,
Kevin

Suffusion Options > Other Graphical Elements > Featured Content is the one you want if it is for the site in your signature.

Sorry, but which site? Which page? Which slider? On the site in your signature I am seeing no slider at all.

That's odd. I disabled the slider, and nothing happened. I guess it takes a little time to update on the server.
Now I have to figure out how to enable the new slider I have installed, TheThe Fly.
I will try to figure out, and if not, will put the old slider back in until my designer can engage.
Thanks,
Kevin

OK--I did disable the theme slider.
I've activated the other slider, but won't load.
Are there any other settings on featured content page of Suffusion that need to be deactivated
in order for the other theme to be active? I am waiting on an update from
the other theme board with instructions, but figured I'd confirm here if there was more needed to be done.
Thanks,
Kevin

The theme doesn't control third-party scripts, so you have to get the instructions from the plugin author.
