Blog page not found when Front page set to static page

Postby alexhiglett » 17 Apr 2012, 12:39

Hello.
I hope someone can help.
I'm new to wordpress and using suffusion theme, which has been brilliant.

I am having a little trouble getting the 'blog' page of my site working.
I have set my front page display to: 'A static page' and chosen front page: Home. Posts page: Blog.
I have made a custom menu with my pages in and it displays and works fine. The pages are all working except the 'blog' page.
When I click on the blog page in the menu, it takes me to a page saying:
'Not Found'. Sorry, but you are looking for somethings that isn't here.

I'm really stuck with this and I'm sure it's something simple that I've checked or not checked, but would appreciate any help.
The site url is:

http://cliffordstudiosdance.co.uk/

Thanks very much
Alex

Your site URL doesn't show me anything (I get an "under maintenance" page).

Do you have at least one post? For real you looking for something that isn't there if you don't publish any post - is the right message and right behavior. For the rest of pages you don't get the same message just because a page can be empty but it's url still can be reached...

Hi Sayontan.
Sorry, I have disabled the under construction now so you should be able to see the normal site as it is.
Thanks in advance for your help

OK. I guess Drake's question still stands - do you have any posts?

Hi Both.
Thanks for your help.
I have done it -I was typing my post into the page rather than through the ' + New' - 'Post'. Sorry it was obvious. Oops.

As I'm here, there is another thing I was wondering about: in my navigation bar, the page 'classes' has nesting pages, and these drop down beneath it on the menu. Just to the right of the text 'classes' there are some arrows to indicate there re more options beneath it. I was wondering if it's possible to remove these arrows? I don't think site visitors will realise the 'classes' is a page in its own right, and will think the arrows mean it's just a header/title for the drop down menu. Is there a way of removing them? I've been in 'Other Graphical Elements' and 'Layout' but am struggling o find an option to take these arrows off.

Thank you for your help.
Best wishes
Alex

See this: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5268&p=28768&hilit=with+arrow#p28790

Custom Styles from there is referring to Suffusion Options -> Back-end -> Custom Includes -> Custom Styles area.
