Photonic: blank gallery, edit in WP reverts to WP Gallery

I installed the Photonic plugin in WP 3.3.2, updated all Flickr related settings including API info. In the page I added [gallery type='flickr' user_id='58954834@N00' view='photosets'] and when I publish it reverts to the WP gallery in the editor (but HTML view shows the Photonic short code I entered). When I go to view the page it's blank. Viewing source shows:

Is it legit to expose the API key in view source?

There is nothing wrong with an API key being shown - it is a public key. What you shouldn't expose is the API secret.

At this point I am not near a computer so I cannot diagnose your problem properly. However one thing you can try is toinsert the shortcode via the HTML mode rather than the visual mode

Thanks, I did that. In fact, when I'm in html view the photonic shortcode is there and correct. When I toggle to visual view it displays the WP gallery feature in the editor. Attached are screenshots: HTML, Visual, and front end website page.

Never mind ... the Photonic plugin didn't test the API key, which has apparently expired. I was trying another Flickr plugin and it told me the key expired.
