How to resize the widget below the header ?

Postby ruridder » 04 May 2012, 08:14

Hi -

i want to put an adsense 728X90 banner under my header and i use the widget under the header space for it. the problem is that the widget expands and so takes too much space. I want it to be exactly the size of the banner or at least the same height .

You can see it in www.howtotradeoptions.us

i know how to trade options but not much about the technology...

Any help appreciated.

Rutridder.

Put the following custom CSS in Suffusion Options > Back-End > Custom Includes > Custom Styles

Code: Select all
#horizontal-outer-widgets-1.flattened {height: 90px;  width: 728px; margin: 10px 0 0 100px;}

Colin - you are a magician. 10X!

It almost did the trick. The widget seems to be the correct size, but the content doesn't start from the top left. The Ad from google appears slightly below the widget - see http://www.howtotradeoptions.us

Any idea how to fix this ?

Sorry, I have ad blocking enabled so I can't see your ad to know what to do. You can try a negative top margin of about 40px that may do it but without being able to see it sorry I don't know for certain.

Your Google ad is 120px hight and your widget area is only 110px high so that isn't helping.

You also have a second widget in that area that pushing the ad down. Remove the wysiwyg widget from this area and your ad will probably creep up.

That's all I can suggest.

Use Firebug in Firefox to inspect the elements and see what you have there and then turn off with display: none any that you don't need.
