reduce gaps on post archive (category) view

Postby Martinl276 » 15 May 2012, 11:17

Hello

How can I reduce the gaps on my post archive view (category view)? I want to squeeze everything up to reduce the amount of space that each post takes up (especially the amount of space wasted at the bottom of each post).

Here is my URL:
Code: Select all
http://www.betgazette.co.uk/category/football-premier-league/

Thanks
Martin

You only have one article there. Post some more then maybe we can help. Some of the padding is probably caused by your plug-in.

Hello Colin

Thanks for your quick reply. I've posted a couple more and bizarrely the gaps on the original post seem bigger than the two I've just posted.

Out of interest, how can I remove the post date image on the left of the post title?

Hello

I have removed any plugin affecting the bottom of the post and there is still a fairly large gap at the bottom of my posts on the category view (archive). The gap in question is under the Cleeng boxes in the following URL: http://www.betgazette.co.uk/category/football-premier-league/

Thanks in advance
Martin

Try this

Code: Select all
div.post-footer {display:none;}

Edit the posts in HTML view and remove the unnecessary P tags at the bottom of the post.

The fancy graphics on your Cleeng plugin are also taking space.

The site just taking the lenght of the longest element that need to fit in and the footer is increased accordingly... in your case the longest thing is the drop-down menu with horses - open it and you will see that it's final are at the bottom of your huge footer. Consider using mega menus as alternative of your longs drop-down's.
