I have been using Google Adsense for several years on a regular html website, and have now tried to paste the ads into my Suffusion test website:
http://focusingonwildlife.com/test-platform/
The ads should show up in the right-hand widget at the top.
No matter what I try I can't get the ads to show up.
Maybe I'm making a basic mistake.
Please advise.

Sayontan, this is really strange. I've tried 3 different browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Seamonkey - all with javascript enabled, no blocking add-ons enabled and with the latest version of Java installed.
The result is always the same on all three browsers. There's an appropriate-sized box in the right hand widget for the Adsense ad but the box is completely empty. If I check the page source, the adsense code is perfectly present in the page source code - but no ads to be seen.
I've also disabled the McAfee firewall on my computer but that doesn't seem to make any difference.
On the other hand the same ads show up perfectly on my older html website. The problem is only with my wordpress website.
If I understand your reply correctly, you're able to see the ads in the right hand widget - is that correct?
My question is whether this can be something to do with one of the wordpress settings?

You included the code for adsense incorrectly, this is the reason of bad behavior:

Try to solve first other mistake. You've added at Suffusion Options -> Other Graphical Elements -> Footer -> Text in central part of footer, something like:
..... <html> ...</html>....
On a web page can exist a single <html> tag, at the start of page... and the page is finished by </html>. Don't use <html>, <head> or <body> in your page anywhere, these tags are already used for generating your pages. In your case replace that tag with <span> or with a div with needed width, like .....<div style="width:300px;"> </div>.....
After that, your html markup will be correct, if the ads can't be seen, probably it's something that depend of Google, not of your site.

So I've corrected this html mark-up issue in the footer but the Google ad still doesn't show up on my computer.
If I understood Sayontan's previous reply correctly, he was able to see the Google ads without any problem.
Is that the case with you?

The fact that you can't see the ads either rules out the possibility that it's something to do with my browser settings.
On the other hand the ads are still functioning perfectly well on my old html site.
So my conclusion is that the problem is something to do with Wordpress and/or Suffusion.
Would there be antyhing else I could test to nail this issue down?

Really I don't know how it think Google... Maybe you can't use the code from the old site on the new one, maybe it take some time for ads to propagate on the new site... I don't believe that have something to do with WP/Suffusion as I saw many WP sites with Suffusion theme where the adsense works fine.
