blog navigation active link is not highlighted as active

I just downloaded your theme and I am testing it out. I love it and I am running into one or two issues...
I have a menu with some static pages (bio, blog, contact etc) and everything works as expected. When I hover over the menu it changes color and when I click on one of the menu pages it keeps the color... This works with everything except the "blog" menu item (the installation of wp). When I go over the blog menu item it does change color, but when I click on it it goes back to white... Any idea why?

The navigation highlighting links work based on a page id. The blog, which is not a static page, doesn't have a page id, hence the link doesn't get highlighted.

I can put in a fix, but that will be some kind of hard-coding. Hypothetically I could set up page redirection (see the navigation bar of http://mynethome.net/blog for an example), in which case a selected link from the navigation bar is going to take you to another page.

I am open to putting in the check for the front page, though - I will work on it.

not sure what you mean by frontpage... in my case the front page link works, it's just the blog page that doesn't work (blog being the name of the WP blog as well as it's installation folder)... maybe you could check to see if we are in the installation folder defined in the general settings and if we are you could highlight the button, or something like that

Two things that I noticed - if I click on the home icon, that is not highlighted, neither is the icon for your blog (which is the one you were pointing out).

Questions:
1. What are the settings you have in your "General Settings" section for "WordPress address (URL)" and "Blog address (URL)"?
2. Are your posts defined on a separate page of their own? As in, are you using the "Posts Page" feature of the "Reading Settings"?

you are right the home icon is not highlighted either... I hadn't noticed that but I am fine with it actually.
to answer your questions:

2. yes, in Reading Settings I have the Post Page set to 'Blog'

I investigated this problem and it appears like I cannot do anything about this now. Basically the way I would have handled this highlighting was through some kind of a conditional tag. But there seems to be no conditional tag for the "Blog" page and neither is any page ID present for it, hence I am unable to determine that this particular tab has been selected. I guess I have to wait for the conditional tag for this particular condition to be available.
