How To… Hide the Search Box in Suffusion

How To

Gauging by trending questions on the Support Forum, I decided to start a series of simple “How To” solutions. Each addresses an oft answered yet frequently asked question on different support forums. Unlike the broader spectrum “Recipes”, this will require little to no coding.

Here’s hoping that people will find the series useful.

To hide the search box in the navigation bar of Suffusion:

  1. Go to Suffusion Options → Sidebar Configuration → Right Header Widgets
  2. For “Show Search in Widget Area on right side of header”, set it to “Hide the Search”

  1. Thank You, Love the idea “How To” 🙂

  2. Managed to figure that one out myself! 🙂 Thanks for this great theme!

  3. Thanks. I spent a lot of time trying to find this setting and finally found this after doing a web search. I should have done that search earlier. It would have saved me a lot of time.

  4. Hi there.
I would like to change the text inside the search box from the word “search” to the Hebrew word for “search” (חיפוש). is it possible to edit the widget?
I can see where the code is using firebug (and managed to change it in firebug), but how do I get to actually change the code permanently?
    THX.
    D.

  5. Removing the search box still leaves a blacked-out area where the box used to be. I’d really like to know if this can be removed.

  6. I just want to have a seach box in the widget bar 1 on the right side.
How can I remove the search box in the “Widget above header”? See http://www.mtv-kronberg.de/wordpress/

I can’t find any option to hide this or do I have to modify any PHP/CSS file?

    • Solved. Found my Search widget. Thx for your great theme.

  7. Thank you for this – found the solution I was looking for and worked a treat.

Great theme – I seem to be converting all my sites over to it! Keep up the good work!
