Suffusion Version 4.2.7

Version 4.2.7 of Suffusion went live earlier today. The following are the changes in this release:

  1. If users entered incorrect paths for the “rotating header” this was causing their site to crash. I have made a modification that will simply report an incorrect path if this happens and will not bring the site down.
  2. I have also added a few fonts to the list of inbuilt fonts.

There were a few problems with the forum not sending out notifications and activation mails the last couple of weeks. I have fixed that.

I am currently in the middle of a major move from Vancouver to Houston. As a result I haven’t taken on any major changes to Suffusion. As I see there is only one major aspect left to tackle – responsive design. But I don’t want to work on that until I have settled in Houston.

  1. Curses! We just got you and you’re abandoning us for Houston? What can Canada offer you to stay? We tried free health care and that’s obviously not enough .

Seriously, good luck with your move.

    • Please don’t get me started. The only thing I have liked about Vancouver is its people – nice looking and very friendly. Given that I moved here from the Silicon Valley, the weather was an unmitigated disaster. Even compared to the standards of the Silicon Valley the cost of living is obscenely high, and the most damning is that on the professional front this place was catastrophic. The healthcare is free for sure (though technically we do pay for the MSP), but it took my wife four months to get a painful cyst removed – at one point we were thinking of chucking it all and making a trip to India to get her treated.

  2. […] Latest news, Suffusion has update the theme to version 4.2.7. Check out what’s new in this release Suffusion 4.2.7. […]

  3. Good luck with the move!

  4. The very best to you and your wife on the move Sayontan. You will enjoy living in Texas. Houston is great and Austin is tops! Take a trip up to Austin and visit all the restaurants, the symphony, Austin City Limits tv music show and the blues music on 6th street. 🙂 Have fun!

    • Thanks. I have actually been to Austin several times. It is easily my top destination in Texas, but for a major issue – the airport. Its connectivity is rather poor, and for me that is a big deal both professionally and personally.

  5. Good luck with the move Sayontan. I would try to defend the our health care but of course this is not the place 🙂

  6. Thank you so much for your wonderful theme and your hard work!

Good luck with your move! I have moved a number of times, and in my experience getting to know a new city is great fun, but the actual process of moving is a giant pain. I hope it goes smoothly.

I am originally from Texas and lived there until I graduated college, but haven’t lived there since. I remember it fondly and hope that you like it!

  7. But at least you won’t have to travel to see the Formula 1 race later in the year.
