Re: Decreasing width of video carousel

Hey Drake, thank you for responding! For some reason, this code is not working. I'm pasting it into Custom styles and it's not affecting the width of the container.

Re: Decreasing width of video carousel

Lol Yes, a little knowledge is dangerous! As long as I don't blow anything up, I'm good! Haha! I just always want to do whatever I can, on my own (no matter how misinformed) , before posting here with a question. Thank you for the compliment on my site. It still seems really overbearing to me, being...

Decreasing width of video carousel

Hello all, Hopefully, this is not too much of a pain but I tried everything else. I have a video carousel plug in on my front page. In the plugin settings, there is an option to decrease the height of the video display but not the width. I'm trying to be smarter than I used to be with this stuff so ...

Re: Having blog posts appear on a static page

Thank you again, Colin! There was a delayed response because I came down with a cold and was inundated with numerous gigs at the same time. Instead of just using your code without researching, I was actually able to locate the reference id using Google Chrome Developer Tools. So now, as I keep exper...

Re: Having blog posts appear on a static page

Colin, I had been experimenting with various query posts widgets for the additional features, as you suggested, but when I tried to revert back to my original set-up ( dragging the original Query Posts widget back over to Ad Hoc Widgets 1 ), the codes you posted for eliminating background and border...

Re: Having blog posts appear on a static page

Thanks again, Colin. You guys are awesome! One last thing I'd like to do is change the width of the "Ad Hoc Widgets 1" area. Is that possible? I just want to make it narrower so that my blog doesn't take up the entire width of the page, making it more or less consistent with the rest of my page cont...

Re: Having blog posts appear on a static page

Nice! Thanks, Colin! I had actually read about that Suffusion Shortcodes plugin in my web search but didn't know for sure If it applied here. Now that I've gotten that straight, I've also placed a duplicate Text Widget, containing my social networking icons, right above my blog, using Ad-Hoc Widgets...

Re: Having blog posts appear on a static page

I had actually tried dragging the Query Posts widget over to the "Widget Area Above Footer" before posting my question here so I guess I came close. This achieved almost what I'm looking for, even placing the Blog posts exactly where I want them to go, right at the bottom, below my social networking...

Re: Having blog posts appear on a static page

Thank you so much, Drake, for pointing me in the right direction. Although I'm getting smarter at some of this, Ad-Hoc widgets are brand new to me. I already dragged the Query Posts widget into "Ad Hoc Widgets 1" and then tried pasting the short code [suffusion-widgets id='1'] into my Home Page and ...
