Sayontan, this is my experience. I have no plans to find out why it works now. I just stated that it works ONLY after this update of WP 3.5 and Suff 4.4.4 ;=)
After many tries I got it working. That is enough for me

to test whether the problem comes from Suffusion or not, just activate another theme!

I found this solution because I kind of gave up and installed codestyling localization and then looked into the .mo file that was written by the plugin. And there it was de_DE.mo .... Sorry that I oversaw the wrong capitalisation of the language files... of course it must be de_DE ;=) cheers, Connie

no I didn't because the pool shows that the file is translated around 90% ...
I wanted to check mine because I have some special textstrings...
will check, but the problem with the updating of an existing file with the suffusion.po-catalogue still remains...
