Datebox invisible after upgrade to 4.2.2

Post by Connie » 20 Jun 2012, 05:26

Hi!

I somehow didn't want to update my suffusion version`s so often as I have it working at many sites and don't remember all specialities of each site all the time.

But I did update it today at http://www.avantart.com/lesebuch/ and now the datebox was invisible. It was visible before, now it's gone.
I checked the forum and found some hints for Suffusion 4.2 with missing datebox, but the code which has to be modified, is not in pullout.php anymore...

I found out that while the datebox was set to "custom styles" it was invisible. I changed it to "theme default", now it is visible. What's this?

Sometimes I am tired of all the options and changes, Sayontan, you are too fast!

Connie welcome back.

It could be HTML 5 that is causing your problem. Check out all your custom styles against the new HTML 5 declarations.

Connie,
Different skins have different default settings for some options. E.g. the Photonique skin shows bylines in a single line below the post title, Minima shows bylines pulled out to the left beside the post content etc. Similarly some skins don't display the date box. Such settings are controlled by the "Theme Default" option, as applicable.

To be quite honest I am a lot slower than I used to be earlier, mainly because the theme features are reaching a point of saturation. Also, I have tried my hardest to ensure that the changes I make don't break things for users, and if I think they will break things, I try giving advance warning via my blog.
