question about 'NEXT post' 'PREV post links'

Post by jmz1964 » 28 Apr 2014, 11:22

recently, i noticed a problem with the "NEXT post" "PREVIOUS post" links on my blog. An example is here:

http://www.james-baker.com/news/2013/09 ... trism.html

at the top of the post, the PREVIOUS link is called "As seen on TV" which skips back several years instead of about a month. The proper sequence can be seen in the "Recent Posts" area of the left sidebar on my blog. the previous post SHOULD be "Sculpture Sketches".

on this post i have the same problem going the other way:

http://www.james-baker.com/news/2013/09/one-year.html

the NEXT link SHOULD be "Dogmatic vs Dogcentric" but instead skips 4 posts to "BIZARRO Sketch Night"

I am not sure if this is an issue with SUFFUSION? If not, Do any of you have tips on how to fix this and get the posts flowing in the proper order?

I have noticed a few OTHER subtle issues lately, such as category titles not appearing above category descriptions as before, EG:

http://www.james-baker.com/news/categor ... kers-dozen

But once again, I am not sure if this is something else, a plugin etc. Any advice tips or suggestions?

Probably you have checked: "Previous / Next posts should belong to the same category (might not show the right category if posts have multiple categories)" at Suffusion Options -> Other Graphical Elements -> Breadcrumbs and Page Navigation -> Posts -> Previous / Next Posts.

DRAKE! once again you have saved the day! I never noticed that option before. Thank you. It seems to be working as I want it to now.

What about the other issue I mentioned? Of category titles not appearing above category descriptions as before, EG:

http://www.james-baker.com/news/categor ... kers-dozen

Until recently, that page would have had the category title "Baker's Dozen" above the description, but does not now. I may have accidentally changed a setting somewhere, but do not know where.

The titles are there but is in white on white background... Probably you have selected "Override skin defaults" at Typography -> Posts and Page Titles (or Content Headers) and in this case the default color of text become white. Change the color of text at Typography or uncheck the first option to revert to the theme colors.

Wow! you did it again. Magic.

well, I may as well ask your guidance on one last CSS issue. The navigation menu beneath the header image on my blog shows little CIRCLES (as if it is an unordered list menu). see 'GUESTBOOK" "ART" "PHOTOS" for example. I have been fiddling for weeks to figure out what option I mistakenly selected. But i am stymied. Can you please guide me, DRAKE?

Can add at Custom Styles:

Code: Select all

#nav.continuous ul li {list-style: none;}
But also check your plugins/links, widgets.digg.com/buttons.js show a js error which can break the default behavior of menus.

i am using JETPACK for all my sharing buttons. I always had trouble with other sharing plugins. That is interesting that there is a problem even with JETPACK. I will remove the DIGG option for now.
thanks again

I use Shareaholic for almost all my sites, they never disappointed. (And yes, you fixed the javascript by removing Digg button).
