H1's not complying when linked

Post by jmg » 22 Feb 2015, 09:10

Hi all, my first post here on this forum.
I'm fairly new to wordpress and the suffusion theme. I've managed well so far but I'm really struggling with something which is happening to my H1's when linked to another page.

When I link an H1 to another page it's colour is ignored until the link is visited and then you go back. It will then remember and stay the correct colour and have a rollover colour.
When I override the colour in the text field the H1 becomes the correct colour but then the hover doesn't work. Very frustrating!

Below is a link to my site. The first 2 in the list you will find are the wrong colour until visited, the others have been manually overwritten but now don't have the hover colour.

BTW, all other links in my body copy are working as supposed to be, it's just when using heading it happens.

Thank you

Jon

If the typography settings don't do it for you, you can always do this with some custom CSS in Suffusion Options > Backend > Custom Includes > Custom Styles.

Try something like this

Code: Select all

h1 a {color:#ff0000;}
h1 a:hover {color:#00ff00;}
h1 a:visited {color:#0000ff;}
Change the colours to suit.

Hi Colin,
Ive done that, but I can't tell if it's worked as It as my computer remembers the hover function from last time (sorry not explained very well!).

Would you mind looking at the page and telling me if the options in the list are all green and the hover colour is grey, and stays that way before and after visiting.

Thank you!

It isn't working BECAUSE you haven't put a # in front of your color definitions!!!

This is what you have put in your CSS

Code: Select all

h1 a {color:088B74;}
h1 a:hover {color:4F4F4F;}
h1 a:visited {color:088B74;}

Ah, school boy error!

I've added the # but now it seems the hover function has stopped working.

Sorry, any idea why?

Ah, I think its because of the visited colour.

I've just removed the visited code and it now seems to work!

Thank you very much!!!
