I think I understand what you mean, and if I have understood it right, that kind of stuff will take eons to test out. Let's see. In any case you should be able to use WP 3.0 menus for that category stuff - it should work fine.

I second this request.

I am a total noob but i have been working on the theme the last 3 days and was wondering if you could help with this.

I would like to put a "follow me on Twitter, youtube, facebook, etc" on the right side of the header opposite my logo.

I don't know if there is a plugin for this or what but if this functionality were added it would be amazing.

my address is www.trafficflo.net/blog so you can let me know if I am doing something wrong

Just to ask if I add a picture to the background of the header as I already have something in the "foreground ( me thinks)" will this at least get something over to the right side of the screen?

It will, but it will not be clickable.

Thank you for a fantastic theme!

Re: #1
I am currently working on a website that needs advertising space in the upper right corner of the header itself. When I put the image into the Right Header Widget it falls below the header and adds dead space. Is there a way to place something directly to the right (not above or below) the header space?

I'm running Wp30 and latest Suffusion.

As has been stated earlier on this thread, the answer is no.

See the bottom of this post, though: http://www.aquoid.com/news/2010/07/suff ... ion-3-5-6/.

Ah, I'd somehow skipped that last paragraph before - apologies :)

I understand this applies to inserting code as well? If so, what file is best to start at?

Many thanks,
Eric

If you are feeling adventurous you can create a child theme and play with it. The hooks for the header are all defined in actions.php, though in the spirit of a child theme you shouldn't touch the core theme's files. Of course, you can edit the core files, but they will be overwritten the next time you upgrade.

If you are feeling patient you can wait for a few weeks. I submitted version 3.5.8 last Saturday, but it is still way behind in the approval queue. That version has a widget area for use in the header.

I will start to tamper with the hooks and child themes, that may be good to keep me busy and learn more about the theme options / functions. Learning never hurts (well only at first) :)

I am looking forward to the solution you are planning to provide, I am courious however, will it have restrictions on the size of the widget or .. ?

Very excited, I'll be glad to make a donation once my next check comes!

I registered just to voice my support for this feature. In fact, as great as the theme is, I'm surprised the feature isn't already there. Having full control of the right side of the header is vital because it is prime real estate (for small banners, google adsense, social network buttons, etc.).

Suffusion is an awesome theme and my hat goes off to the creator for doing an amazing job. I look forward to using it once the right hand side header space issue has been resolved. Thank you for listening to these suggestions and cheers...
