Use subdomain to share the loads

Post by imjscn » 03 Aug 2010, 05:13

Can we move the image folder to subdomain and have the option of changing theme style.css to reflect the full url to the new image files ?

do not use style.css, but define the settings with the new URL in the Custom Includes

From my understanding, Custom Includes is an useful option to add our additional stuffs. But, I meant to move Suffusion theme's image folder to subdomain and have the url reflect the change. Is this possible?

well, that I never tried

but: why don't you give it a try? A test will last only few minutes, you can do that at a not-so-active time

That's not possible for me. Normally it takes me a few weeks to understand one or two lines of code :ugeek:

If you have time on your hands anything is possible with WP and its themes.
But I don't see much value in this kind of a move. The total size of all the images being loaded on your site will not amount to more than 30KB. So what is the point of this exercise?

@sayontan,
Thanks for your comment.
I didn't pick the idea on the tree. I'm just following a tutorial on optimizing blog performce. :lol:
Since you don't see it's worth trying, I will skip this step of optimizing.

Thanks!
