Yes, as far as I know, for older versions of suffusion.pot files was problems with translation of some fields (including those you mention). But now those problems was solved by moving translations to glotpress: http://pool.aquoid.com/

Can you try to test to download the translation from there?
Hi Frank,

I will try. But I have problems because a very personal translation file and in the moment it seems impossible to me to merge/update my older file (3.8.2 or 4.26) with the suffusion.po

if I test the ones from the pool, it might work, but then I will have to edit that to get my personal version back ;=(

I will test, cheers!

Connie

Drake, I upgraded to WP 3.5_de (german version) and I upgraded to Suffusion 4.4.4
as you can see at www.gribowski.de, the problems with the "add comments".. fields etc. still exist
I checked the german WP-files, they are ok
I checked the suffusion files, don't see an error

but: It is not complete translated, and now I get frustrated... it was better some time before

Sorry Connie, something is wrong on your side. As I said, those fields aren't translated only if you use the old translation files, generated with poEdit. Just for testing I exported the translation files for German - SIE, from pool.aquoid.com, as de_DE.po and de_DE.mo, then I uploaded the files on a site started yesterday. Then I changed the language in wp-config to de_DE. Even if the files for wordpress language are still the Romanian ones, the frontend of Suffusion is entirely in German as you can see in the screenshot.

I did these steps:

- deleted old language files on my domain
- updated WP to 3.5
- updated Suffusion to 4.4.4
- downloaded the mo and po from the translation pool and uploaded them to /wp-content/themes/suffusion/translation-folder
- refreshed the cache of my browser
- tried with other browser
- I work with Suffusion and not with a child installation

still these fields are not translated, all the comment-related strings are in english
when I activate another theme, TwentyTwelve for example, all these fields are translated, everything is in german language

the only difference which I see is that I installed WP 3.5 german edition and not WP 3.5

this does not happen when I

I do not know what to do, will update Suffusion again and I am getting tired ;=(

PS: after the update to SUFFUSION 4.4.5 and again downloading po and mo file and uploading these, I finally get all strings translated. I made a filecompare, the language files which I downloaded and used with 4.4.4 match exactly with the files which I downloaded today, so it must be something with the Suffusion version ....
these are the small problems which annoy (they do not affect our life really, but they annoy...)

Cheers, Connie

Hmmm... You can be right, on the new site where I tested the German translation I had Suffusion 4.4.5 installed from SVN.

Drake,

no problem, at least we all have now reasons to follow the updates even when we don't use all these additional plugins ;=)

I am really relaxed now, all is ok :)

The change log for 4.4.5 has nothing to do with translation...

so it stays a mysterium. But I must tell you, I am tired of it.

Sayontan, this is my experience. I have no plans to find out why it works now. I just stated that it works ONLY after this update of WP 3.5 and Suff 4.4.4 ;=)

After many tries I got it working. That is enough for me

Cheers, Connie

Fair enough. I was merely stating that translation and 4.4.4/4.4.5 have nothing to do with each other. Lots of things get solved without us knowing exactly why.

I have trouble to get the german translation files work properly, too.

My setup:
- WP 3.9.1
- Suffusion 4.4.7
- downloaded suffusion-de.po and suffusion-de.mo from http://pool.aquoid.com/translations/pro ... e/de_DE-DU
- renamed and uploaded de_DE.po and de_DE.mo to /wp-content/themes/suffusion/translation
- wp-config.php is set to de_DE: check :)

Error message inside WordPress/Suffusion:
"You are using a version of WordPress that is not in American English, and your translation files are in the theme's main folder. You will lose these files if you upgrade the theme. Move your translations to a child theme instead."

Why would I have to create a child theme? As far as I understand I don't need to, according to the instructions of Approach 2 which I followed: http://aquoid.com/news/themes/suffusion ... #use-basic

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any advice :)
