One last (hopefully) related question about unwanted backgrounds.
Is there a code to have the colour of the search box and the Archive list box the same colour as the background in Photonique.
In my blog i changed the background colour (from black) but i would also like the same colour (dark blue) in the search box and the Archive list box.
As in my blog at at http://treshnishbirdlog.co.uk

The background of your searchfield is an image located at /images/search-ph.png. This image is a black background with the magnifying glass. You will therefore have to use an image editing programme to alter the black.

Thanks Colin.
When i try to edit the image my server gives me the error message
The file is not saved in UTF-8 format and cannot be edited with our editor!
Solution: To be able to edit files created by previous editor, please make sure to choose UTF-8 format/encoding when you save them.

So i guess i am stuck.

You need to edit the image in a graphic editor, like Photoshop... Corel... Gimp...

Anyway, I can propose an improvement - not perfect but no need to change anything on server, maybe it help. At Custom Styles add:

Code: Select all

.collapse .searchfield {opacity:0.6;color:#fff;}

Thanks drake.
I realised i couldn't edit the image because i wasn't logged in as ftp. (probably wrong way to express it).
In firefox i used the firetp plug in which was easy.
I learnt a lot in the last 2 days!
I will try your code too.
Hopefully i can figure out the archive background
Thanks

Now, the archive select menu have colors defined like this:

Code: Select all

input, textarea, select {
background: #222;
color: #bbb;
border-color: #333;
}
Add at Custom Styles the above code where you change the colors with yours.

Huge thanks Drake!
I got it.
I added to custom-includes in Suffusion backend. (I was trying for hours to do it in custom-stles.php which didn't work.)
Brilliant thanks again.

Thanks also Colin for your method.
It isn't that obvious to find a way to change a black colour in photoshop but i found a way.
Image>Adjustments>Selective Color - choose 'Blacks' from the drop down list, then juggle with the four (including Black) colour sliders till you get the colour you want.

This code

Code: Select all

if (isset($suffusion_unified_options['suf_custom_css_code']) && trim($suffusion_unified_options['suf_custom_css_code']) != "") {
   $included_code = stripslashes($suffusion_unified_options['suf_custom_css_code']);
   $included_code = wp_specialchars_decode($included_code, ENT_QUOTES);
   echo "\n/* Custom CSS code */\n";
   echo $included_code;
   echo "\n/* End Custom CSS code */";
}
Is all php and NOT CSS so you cannot put this in custom styles.

Thanks Colin.
Sorry for cross-posting.
I got there in the end adding it to custom-includes in Suffusion Backend.
I appreciate your explanation though.

Thanks for your tip on changing colours see edited above post.

I would still like to change colour of the archive scroll-bar if you have a code for that?
