Photonic Issue on Wordpress 4.3.1

Dear Aquoid staff,

Thanks for Photonic plugin, I think is the best option to show Picasa images, however recently I updated one of my pages to WP 4.3.1 and the plugin starts to show some issues. I'm desperate right now, I'm getting the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function attributes() on a non-object in /home/christia/public_html/ideagro.com/wp-content/plugins/photonic/extensions/Photonic_Picasa_Processor.php on line 269

I did nothing, just only updated Wordpress from 3.9 to 4.3.1, I've been using the plugin since last 3 years on this site with any issue found, all were working properly and amazing until now; it's impossible to show images as before :(

It seems that WP 4.3.1 has been modified which is locking the functionality of Photonic, could you give me please a hand? any ideas?

Thank you!!

Sincerely I don't know what to do. I tested also to change the themes to WP default themes, and "Fatal error: Call to a member function attributes() on a non-object.." error message still appearing, any ideas about to do??

Thank you very much!!

Hello.

I contacted the webhost provider today and they only say that the plugin is up to 4.2 as appears on https://github.com/wp-plugins/photonic, so is the issue related to a pending plugin update to WP 4.3???
Any idea? Anyone?
Thank you

Hello

I did a installation of Photonic on a WP test that I have
http://christian-munoz.com/idekotest/?page_id=2
Wordpress 4.1.8
Photonic 1.49

The code are:

Code: Select all

<h4>Delta 401</h4>
[gallery type='picasa' user_id='101013262665799980423' kind='photo' album='IdeagroRemolqueDelta401' max_results='29' thumbsize='75']
<h4>Delta 801</h4>
[gallery type='picasa' user_id='101013262665799980423' kind='photo' album='IdeagroRemolqueDelta801' max_results='29' thumbsize='75']
<h4>Delta 1208</h4>
[gallery type='picasa' user_id='101013262665799980423' kind='photo' album='IdeagroRemolqueDelta1208' max_results='29' thumbsize='75']
I'm getting the same error message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function attributes() on a non-object in /home/christia/public_html/idekotest/wp-content/plugins/photonic/extensions/Photonic_Picasa_Processor.php on line 269
There might be some issue with this Photonic_Picasa_Processor.php

Thanks!!

Looks like the plugin cannot get your photos from Picassa. Maybe is worth to check if your album is public: https://support.google.com/picasa/answe ... hl=en&rd=1

Sorry, I don't use Picassa or Photonic and I don't have any other idea...

Hi drake.

Thanks for your answer. All my albums are already set to public, in fact before updating, it was working fine until. I did another website in the past in which I applied Photonic and is still working fine: http://www.urbconltda.com/galeria/ In that website WP didn't get updated

Thanks anyway for you help, let's see if anyone could lend me a hand, this is very strange :(
Regards

@djchr I have WordPress 4.3.1 and the latest Photonic version and I don't receive any error messages. It is working well for me. All my Picasa images are displaying without any issues.

You did mentioned the following.....I did nothing, just only updated Wordpress from 3.9 to 4.3.1.............From time to time when upgrading WordPress from an earlier version some files become corrupted. You might want to carry out the following, reinstall WordPress 4.3.1 from the Admin dashboard or upload through FTP WordPress 4.3.1 zipped then unpack all the files and making sure they override all WordPress 3.9 files. (Of course make sure you have a backup before you carry out this task just in case something goes wrong).

Another test you might like to carry is create a new test page or post and add Photonic shortcode and see what happens. In some cases the page or post becomes corrupted.

Kind regards

Manuel

I've done this and I don't think my Wordpress install is corrupted but I'm getting this Fatal error: too after finally updating wordpress. I'll try and install an old version of wordpress for now to see if that works but I think it's best to have an up to date version for security reasons.

@Semper and @Artie

The current version of WordPress is 4.4.2.

From 4.3.1. to 4.4.2. was a lot of changes. From 4.2.9. to 4.4.2. was even more changes. In this time Photonic itself was updated many times to support the changes from WP and the changes from image providers.
So the current version of Photonic works with the current version of WordPress.

If you have questions related to the current versions please open your own topics.

When update WordPress from such old versions need to take care of many conditions: your theme is updated to support the new version? All plugins are updated? What PHP version is working on your server? Which MySQL version?
Before upgrading make sure that you have a current backup of files and database so you can restore your site if anything goes wrong.

Hi All!!

Thanks for the comments and words. I couldn't fix the problem. I had to move all photos from Picasa to flickr, in order to use the, plugin, and it worked, but however I faced a new issue:

I've been doing an exact copy of a Wordpress site on a new server. Everything was fine as expected except for Photonic plugin performance.

In the past (in the old server) I had some issues with the plugin working with Picasa, for that reason I decided to move all the photos to Flickr, and was fine.

But now (in the new location), flickr photos are not displaying properly, despite I'm using WP 4.4.2 and Photonic 1.5.6:

1.
As you can check on http://pasteboard.co/2NZBS4kI.png (This is the look like of the new location) and the source code for the first image is something like this:

Code: Select all

<li class="photonic-flickr-image photonic-flickr-photo photonic-pad-photos"><a href="https://farm1.static.flickr.com/704/22801327747_9edbb747d5_z.jpg" onclick="__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'https://farm1.static.flickr.com/704/22801327747_9edbb747d5_z.jpg', 'Ideagro - Silo Pack J-401');" class='launch-gallery-prettyphoto prettyphoto' rel='photonic-prettyPhoto[lightbox-photonic-flickr-stream-2]' title="<a href='https://www.flickr.com/photos/92601223@N00/22801327747'>Ideagro - Silo Pack J-401</a>" data-title="<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/92601223@N00/22801327747" onclick="__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'https://www.flickr.com/photos/92601223@N00/22801327747', 'Ideagro - Silo Pack J-401');">Ideagro - Silo Pack J-401</a>" data-photonic-deep="gallery[flickr-stream-2]/1/" ><img alt="Ideagro - Silo Pack J-401" src="https://farm1.static.flickr.com/704/22801327747_9edbb747d5_s.jpg" class='square' /></a></li>
So, it produces that `Ideagro - Silo Pack J-401" data-photonic-deep="gallery[flickr-stream-2]/1/" >` is showing as a possible title of the picture.

2.
Ok, now in http://pasteboard.co/2NZELFir.png we've got the photoset displayed correctly, and the source code for the same first image is the following:

Code: Select all

<li class="photonic-flickr-image photonic-flickr-photo photonic-pad-photos"><a href="https://farm1.static.flickr.com/704/22801327747_9edbb747d5_z.jpg" onclick="__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'outbound-article', 'https://farm1.static.flickr.com/704/22801327747_9edbb747d5_z.jpg', '');" class='launch-gallery-prettyphoto prettyphoto' rel='photonic-prettyPhoto[lightbox-photonic-flickr-stream-2]' title="Ideagro - Silo Pack J-401"><img alt="Ideagro - Silo Pack J-401" src="https://farm1.static.flickr.com/704/22801327747_9edbb747d5_s.jpg" /></a></li>
The same code is live on http://www.ideagro.com/productos/silopack making a click on "Fotos" tab on the left side.

I copied same setting from old server to new location, but not working. Would you please give me a hand on it?

Looking forward to your comments and replies.
Thank you very much.
