Post by OneMomentOneShotLLC » 17 Dec 2011, 06:50

I started using the Wordpress Theme Photorific and Photonic makes this theme slideshow not load when I activate the plugin.

My site is http://www.onemomentoneshot.com

My guess is that this is a theme issue - it includes its own version of JQuery from Google CDN and that probably causes a clash with Photonic, which includes the JQuery provided by WordPress. I cannot say for sure since you don't have the plugin activated.

These errors come up on your page:

Code: Select all

$ is not a function
$(document).ready(function(){
http://www.onemomentoneshot.com/
Line 123

$ is not a function
$('#contactform').submit(function(){
http://www.onemomentoneshot.com/wp-content/themes/photorific/js/contact.js?ver=3.3
Line 3
My guess is that your theme doesn't load JQuery in a "noconflict" mode. As a result when you have plugins trying to use JQuery in the recommended way, the theme throws errors. Point your theme developer to this link: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Ref ... t_wrappers. The change will have to be made at the theme's end.

The Theme developer had me do the following and still no luck.

Where it says:

Code: Select all $ is not a function $(document).ready(function(){ http://www.onemomentoneshot.com/ Line 123

It’s in the header.php file when it’s calling the Lightbox options. Change $(document).ready(function(){ to jQuery(document).ready(function(){ and hopefully that should do the trick.

Any additional suggestions? I really am trying to get this to work because your SmugMug Plugin is the Best one to use.

From the looks of it your change has not been effective. I don't believe the theme you are using is free, so I cannot check the source code of the theme. But note that there are 2 areas where your theme has errors. One is in the invocation of PrettyPhoto (the Lightbox plugin) and the other is the "contact form" capability that the theme provides. Both would have to be fixed.

I have purchased the theme. Should I send the coding and installation files to you.

Beyond my call of duty, isn't it? :)

You are asking the developer of a free plugin to fix a bug for a theme you have purchased, when by all accounts this service should have come from your theme developer.

Send me the theme - I will see what I can do.
