Re: arabic language file

I have no idea - this is beyond my expertise.
If you are willing to do the research then I can incorporate the fix, but other than that I have no clue as to how to make it work.

Post by ahmos8583 » 14 Jan 2010, 20:41

Set this in your Custom Styles option:

Code: Select all

.suf-widget h3 {
        font-family: "Trebuchet MS",Trebuchet,sans-serif;
}

The translation texts for those English words are missing in the ar.po file. Unless those texts are translated in the po file they will not show up in Arabic.

thanks for your continuous replies and help...
i downloaded the .po file and used an editor called poedit to open it
actually many words that appear in the blog with english has a valid translation in the ar.po file
so i think the reason why those aren't showed in the blog yet is that the blog actual language is still english
although i changed each single text to arabic but the main interface that user should read with is still english
i used wordpress.org not .com ... in the .com version there are ways to change the reading overview to arabic...
can this be done from the theme... or it has something to do with wordpress?

In that case the problem is more basic. Do you have this line in your wp-config.php?

Code: Select all

define ('WPLANG', 'ar');
If not, then that will explain a lot of things, like why you are not getting a default RTL layout. I thought you said you had the basic setup done. From your original text:
your theme in wordpress.org is already working good with arabic...
I thought that meant you had modified your wp-config.php file.
